AUTOMATION GUIDE

Business automation assessment: find the work worth investigating.

A practical framework for owners and operations teams who want to understand repetitive work before buying software or starting an automation project.

1. Start with recurring work

List the tasks that happen every day, week or month. Include data entry, email follow-ups, invoices, support, scheduling, reporting, document handling and CRM administration.

2. Measure effort

Estimate hours spent each week. You do not need perfect timesheets; a reasonable estimate is enough to reveal where workload is concentrated.

3. Look for repetition

Copying information between systems, rebuilding the same report, sending similar messages and moving files through predictable steps are useful signals.

4. Check the exception rate

A process with clear rules and predictable outputs may be easier to automate than one dominated by unusual cases, judgment or approvals.

5. Validate before investing

Compare the recurring effort with implementation cost, maintenance, error impact and the consequences of an automation failure.
