AUTOMATION GUIDE

CRM automation should remove admin, not judgment.

Sales teams lose time when the same lead information is copied between forms, email, spreadsheets and a CRM. The strongest automation candidates are repeatable handoffs where rules are clear and a human still owns the important decision.

Map the lead journey

Document where a lead originates, which fields are captured, where the record is created, how ownership is assigned, what follow-up is triggered, and how the outcome is recorded. Include email, website forms, messaging channels and spreadsheets if they are part of the real workflow.

Good candidates for automation

Lead capture, field normalization, duplicate checks, routing, task creation, reminder sequences and routine activity logging are often structured enough to investigate. These workflows can make information available to people faster without attempting to automate the sales decision itself.

Measure the hidden cost

Track leads per week, minutes of manual entry per lead, duplicate records, missed follow-ups, response delays and reporting effort. The goal is not an impressive automation count; it is a measurable reduction in avoidable administration.

Keep human control

Pricing, qualification, relationship decisions and unusual customer situations may require context that rules do not capture. Build escalation paths and review queues into the process rather than treating every record as identical.

Use the assessment to structure the conversation.

Enter the recurring work, systems and process signals you already know. The result is a directional starting point for deciding what deserves a deeper process review.
